Elisabetta (she/her) is an incoming Ph.D. student in Public Health Nutrition at Cornell University. She holds a Master of Public Health in Nutrition from the Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health, where she specialized in Global Nutrition. During her graduate studies, she interned at the Global Child Nutrition Foundation, where she developed a deep interest in school feeding programs worldwide. After graduating, she continued working in this field at the Harvard Chan, coordinating nutrition research aimed at addressing all forms of malnutrition among adolescents in Tanzania, Burkina Faso, and South Africa, particularly through school‑based interventions. She later moved to Stockholm, Sweden, joining Karolinska Institutet as a grant‑writing research assistant. There, she supported numerous proposals for both the Community Nutrition and Physical Activity team and the Global and Sexual Health team. At Cornell, Elisabetta plans to focus her doctoral research on strategies to reduce food insecurity and strengthen local food procurement systems, with a particular interest in farm‑to‑school models. She is also very interested in learning more about nutrition policies related to schools and food insecurity. Outside of her academic work, Elisabetta enjoys swimming, reading thrillers, cooking, and exploring nature through walking and hiking. She is originally from Italy, and she loves meeting new people, building friendships across cultures, and engaging in language exchanges.
